Greenwood Park Mall
Greenwood, Indiana
Greenwood Park Mall features
a large variety of restaurants, retail shops, and a Barnes and Noble Bookstore
that were designed to create a new ‘Main Street’ retail appearance.
Framing the new north entrance into the mall, the pavements and landscape
plantings help to direct the shopper into the entry plaza space. This
central plaza features a large circular fountain pool with rising jets
of water framing the copper ‘Cornstalk’ sculpture fountain
atop a central base.
The sculpture was commissioned by an Indiana Artist and pays tribute to
the organic theme of agriculture and the main street of a small Indiana
town. Additionally, a large variety of planting beds and pots, paving
patterns, paving textures and colors, a fire pit with small fountain,
lamp posts with hanging pots, and the extensively tree lined drives and
parking lot islands have added a new, green, and environmentally enhanced
atmosphere to the mall. Water conservation was advanced with the new ‘green’
friendly drip irrigation system.
