Gateway Pavilion

The proposed Gateway Pavilion retail center entertained the concept of a new high image retail development situated along the blossoming US 421 Michigan Road corridor, located within two counties and two municipal jurisdictions. With Wal-Mart being considered as the primary anchor store, the project immediately became a contender for the ‘remonstrator project of the year award’. The design and development team proposed cutting edge building facade and site design elements beyond the normal ordinance development standards to much dismay. This project required five different site and landscape design proposals, all adjusted for the two zoning jurisdictions, and still remains as an unfinished project. Design: 2005-2006.
